The Fall

Just three weeks ago, the Lord awakened me in the middle of the night to pray. It was about 3:30 am. Honestly, I'm not a fan of getting up at that hour. But the Lord does love to fellowship with His children at that time, in the quietness, when there are no distractions. It is truly easier to hear Him during the silence of the night. After I prayed, I listened. As I listened, I wrote. I pray you are encouraged by the words I believe He spoke into my heart...

"Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it." (Jeremiah 1:12 KJV)

Lord, this is grave

What we’re going through

The world is crumbling around us

Fears and anxieties are heightened

Risks and uncertainties are swarming

But you are there

You are here

You are everywhere

Even so, Lord, concerns abound

Doctrine is unsound

What are you doing, Lord?

Vain images

Favorite idols

Going, going, gone

World economies

High priorities

Going, going, gone

First love, last love, no love

God is love

Forgotten love, denied love

God is love

Our creator, master maker

Sitting on his throne

Exalted and lifted high

High above all things

Or low below many things

King of kings

Lord of lords

He is everything

Where shall we go?

And he’s not there?

What shall we do?

And he’s not there?

In the depths of sorrow

He is there

In the heights of joy

He is there

God is love

Love lived

Love died

Jesus

Love lives

Love is alive

Jesus

People scoff

Idols reign

Then they fall

Jesus reigns

People praise

No one falls

But life is fragile

Emotions scurry

People worry

Lord, you are there

You are here

You are everywhere

Waiting so patiently

Who will seek me?

Who will find me?

Who will be comforted by me?

Who will know me?

My creation

My love

My beautiful

My intelligent

My wonderfully made

People

Vanity of vanities

They fell for the lies

Deception winning

Leaven leavening

The whole lump

What is true?

What is false?

No one knows

We all know

Does the walk match the talk?

Word of God revealing truth

People walking

People talking

God is sifting

Who will seek me?

Who will find me?

Who will know me?

Jesus living

Jesus loving

Jesus waiting

People are dying

Who will tell them?

Who will show them?

Repentance

What it looks like

What it sounds like

Repentance

How hard it is

How real it is

How glorious it is

Idols falling

Jesus saving

Jesus reigning

Economies falling

Jesus saving

Jesus reigning

Spirit flowing

God is working

God is waiting

Who will know?

Who will show?

Who will live?

"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 11:15 KJV)

We can be certain that every word written in the Scriptures has either happened or will happen. Rest assured that every idol will fall and Jesus is Lord of all!
