There's nothing more disappointing than finding yourself in a position of not being prepared for what comes your way! Whether it be words or actions, at home or work, or even in the church, the outcome of the situation lies primarily on YOU. Yes, YOU! So let's get ready for it!

Key Scriptures: Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 6:10-20

More Scriptures: Matthew 25:1-13

Be Prepared!

“Have you ever set out to do something and when it was time to start, you didn't have what you needed to do it?”

I recently dreamt that I was on the tennis court about to start a game. Just before beginning the match I realized that I didn't have my racquet. A friend tried to find me another racquet; but nothing seemed to fit. Just as I showed up at a tennis match unprepared to play, lacking the tools to play, not ready for the game, the Lord has taught me the same is the case when we start our day without Him and His Word. Without the tennis racquet, we cannot respond to the balls coming our way. There's no way to succeed without the racquet!

Get Ready!

God and His Word are what we need to do life daily. Without them, we're not able to respond to the fiery darts that come our way (Re: Ephesians 6:10-20). Just as balls head our way in a tennis match; without a racquet, we may get hurt and possibly angry. We're not able to respond in the way the game was meant to play. Such is life. When we don't start the day with the tools of God's Word, we're not able to respond in the way life is meant to be. We get hurt or angry. Better yet, we hurt or anger others. Choose this day to be ready for the game of life. Don't get caught unprepared for what comes your way. Be ready!

Presented!

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1 KJV)

How do you present your body as a living sacrifice? For me, I do this every morning by seeking God's will in prayer, asking Him to establish my thoughts (Re: Proverbs 16:3), listening to His direction (Re: Jeremiah 33:3) by reading His Word and by the Holy Spirit (Re: John 16:13). I know there is no way to become the holiness that God created us to be without this. He has said, "Be ye holy." (Re: Leviticus 11:44)

Transformed!

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2 KJV)

Are you conforming or transforming? One thing is certain, we are doing one or the other. Not both. If we choose our days to go without the power of God's Word freshly in us, we will continue to conform to this world. But if we choose our days to go armored (Re: Ephesians 6:10-20) with the Living Word, we are certain to be transformed, because of the renewing of our mind that is taking place. God's Word does not return void. (Re: Isaiah 55:11) Let's join the saints and be ready for the day!
